Sami Labs awarded for R&D efforts

Bangalore based Sami Labs Limited is the winner of National Award for "In-house R&D Efforts" this year, which was given by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research in the category of chemicals and allied industries.

The award was presented by Mr. B.S. Rawat, minister of state in the Department of Science & Technology, at the 16th National Conference on In-house R&D in Industry in Delhi. The award was given for development of five new products and processes.

The company holds eight US patents with 15 additional patent with 15 additional patent applications pending. The company spends about nine per cent of its turnover on research and development compared to the pharma and other related industries, which average about 2.3-2.5 per cent.
