Doctor came with scooter; Sindhu’s travel becomes easy

Iritti(Kannur): Sindhu doesn’t have to worry any more about her travel to the school. Dr Muhammed Majeed, Chairman of Sami Labs Limited in Bangalore came to her school on Monday with a brand new three wheeled scooter. With the entire students and teachers looking on, Dr Majeed presented the key to Sindhu.

Dr Majeed, the students of the school as well as teachers were thrilled to see Sindhu taking a fast round in the school compound with her mother on the pillion.

For Sindhu, Plus two student of St Sebastian’s Higher Secondary School in Velimanam, it was too memorable a day. She is in the tragic grip of the disease Osteogenesis imperfecta, which has made her bones brittle and fragile. Seeing the report on Sindhu in Mathrubhumi, Dr Majeed had come forward to meet all the expenses for her education and medical treatment. He had also offered to give her a scooter as it was difficult for her to walk all the way to the school. Dr Majeed came to the school in this remote village to keep his word.

And the school authorities have made the event unforgettable. Annamma Pynappally, president of Aralam panchayat inaugurated the function which was presided over by Father George Thekkumcherri, the manager of the school. Dr Muhammed Majeed, George Poovathinkal, Shaji Peter and Praveen Joseph spoke. Principal V C Augustine welcomed the gathering and P T Varkey proposed a vote of thanks. Sindhu’s parents also took part.
